South Africa / Namibia Trip (date to be adviced)

Day 01

Our flight from Brussels to Johannesburg in evening.

Day 02

Pick up at Cape Town Airport and transfer to Cape Agulhas – the most southernly point of South Africa. Also known as the point where the 2 oceans (cold Atlantic and warm Indian) meet.

Day 03

On we go to Knysna where we will stay for 2 night to explore the area. On the way we will be passing through Swellendam (3rd oldest city of South Africa) George (slave trade centre), This is the centre of the famous Garde Route — Golden Sandy Beaches, Bloukrans Bridge (for the highest bungee jump in world from a bridge), Big Tree, Storms River Mouth (Tsitsikama National Park), Featherbed Eco Experience (Knysna), Slave tree (George) and lots more.

Day 04

Leaving Knysna we will cross over the Tsitsikama Mountains to Uniondale. Unfortunatly we will not encounter the Uniondale Ghost as we are travelling in day time. Our next stop will be Oudtshoorn (known as the feather capital of South Africa) due to the booming trade of ostrich feather in the old days. Visit a working ostrich farm where you can even ride one — great fun!

Day 05 – 06 – 07

Today is a long drive from Oudtshoorn to Cape Town. We will arrive in Cape Town late afternoon – we will stay here for 3 nights, exploring everything this city has to offer – culture, adventure, food, wine, nightlife.

Day 08

Last day in Cape Town – shopping or just laze around before we return the car and board our flight to Windhoek (Namibia) for our Namibian Adventure. Arrive late in Windhoek and transfer to hotel.

Day 09

Pick up our 4×4 hotel on wheels and off we go to Etosha National Park. Enter the park and start our animal spotting adventure on our way to our first camp site at Okaukuejo Camp. Overnight camping under the stars.

Day 10

Whole day animal spotting on our way to the next camp at Numatoni.

Day 11

We will leave Etosha and drive via Ondangwa and Oshakati to Opuwo. On the way we will stock up on some meat from the local butchers.

Day 12

Site seeing on our way through Damaraland, with some encounters of the Damara people selling all sort of curio on the roadside. Our next camp will be in the Damara town of Khorixas.

Day 13

From Khorixas we will head in the direction of the coast to Torrabay. This is the start point of our drive along the rugged Skeleton Coast of Namibia – Over night in the camp on the beach – maybe catch a fish for our dinner?

Day 14

Continue our drive along the coast to Cape Cross – our next camp. Lots of exploring to do on the way and off coarse lunch on the beach.

Day 15

Still following this rugged coast line, our next overnight will be Swakopmund. A fairly large town and good for shopping – especially leather products and the famous ‘namib vellies’.

Day 16

Today we will be heading into the Namib dessert to explore the spectacular sand dunes. Sesriem Campsite will be our base to explore the area — Sossusvlei, Kolmanskop ghost town, the Namib wild horses, Sesriem Canyon, Luderitz (diamonds), and much more.

Day 17

Early start as we head back to Windhoek for our last night in Namibia.

Day 18

Morning free to do last minute shopping and to return the 4×4. Transfer to Windhoek Airport for our flight (1430) back to Brussels.

Day 19

Arrive back in Brussels early morning with only the memories of an amazing Africa adventure.
